Weekly Wanderings [07.17.17]

The City Open is coming up at the end of July (until August) and although it isn’t for a few weeks, tickets are already on-sale. As someone who attended a past Open, I can vouch that it is a fun day especially if you’ve never been to a Tennis match (that was my first). The day will be filled with food, free stuff, and more importantly Tennis.

Brew at the Zoo is happening this Saturday. Spend the day tasting (unlimited) beers, seeing animals, and playing games. Although tickets are mostly sold out (only VIP tickets are currently left), Facebook or Craiglist can be a great option for getting last minute ones.

The District of Comedy Festival is taking place at the Kennedy Center this weekend. It’s bascially a three day comedic experience, full of shows by groups like Second City to Jane Krakowski and Tituss Burgess. Lots of shows are still available so grab your tickets and let us know how it was!

Kendrick Lamar and Travis Scott are preforming at the Verizon Center on Friday. Lots of tickets are still available online here.

The Capital Riverfront (which was recently redone) has concerts every Friday night. For the seventh year, the concert are free every week and the area is surrounded by restaurants. We’ve noticed a lot of changes (all good) to the Navy Yard area in the last few years. It’s a great place to eat dinner, grab and ice cream and go for a walk on the riverfront before or after the concert.

The restaurants participating in this years Restaurant Week were posted a few days ago. We already made a reservation at 1709 and I’m guessing we will make at least one more…it’s too good not too. It will be going on the week of August 14-20th. Click here to see the list of restaurants and make a reservation!
