Where to Celebrate Cinco de Mayo in the District [05.05.17]

As I’m sure you’ve read, we love Mexican food and drinks (margs specifically). We thought it would be fun to do a quick post that compiles everything going on in the District this Friday, May 5th.

  • Chaia in Georgetown will have $3 Beer and lime all day tomorrow.
  • Lyft is offering free rides to the first 1,500 customers that meet a few conditions, see if you qualify here.
  • Espita Mezcalderia is hosting an event from 5pm to close, called “Not Your Average Cinco”.
  • Taco Bamba tacos, live music by Matt Waller, and a rooftop backdrop will all be happening at Del Campo.
  • Dino’s Grotto (an Italian restaurant) will be having a pop-up menu featuring Italian-Mexican fusion dishes. The menu is price fixed at $25 a person (and includes a cocktail).
  • FREE tacos at Decades, the DC retro-themed nightclub. Tickets and additional info can be found here.
  • Mezcalero will be having $5 margaritas and $3.50 beers starting at 11am (yes you read that correctly). Other specials will continue throughout the night include a build your own taco station.
  • Alero will have deals all day at their multiple locations in DC (Dupont and U street) from 11am until 2:30am.
  • The typical 4-7pm happy hour will be taking place at Mission, in addition to $4.50 Tecate cans, $4.50 pints of Dos Equis, $8.00 house margaritas all starting at 11am.
  • Tico is celebrating Cinco de Mayo all week. Specials are happening nightly which lead up to the feature drinks and snack deals beginning at 3pm.
  • Taqueria del Barrio will be hosting a $65 all you can eat and drink which includes tacos, wings, lager, punch, and margs. Tickets are available to purchase ahead of time and you may even take home swag.
