First things first – we love this place (and you will too). We’ve been going here since our co-worker recommended it (shout-out to Jake) a while back. Now we stop by about once a month for our necessary margarita and taco fix.
It’s right off of 14th right next to Ice Cream Jubilee. It’s a bit of a hidden gem since it’s off the main drag of 14th, but this side street is definitely heating up. If you can’t already tell, it’s a Mexican restaurant. However, it’s more like an old gas station meets post office meets diner. Seriously – the chefs wear khaki colored jumpsuits! The vibe is laid back and pretty chill. We’ve stopped by on a low key Sunday to satisfy our taco cravings and also spent a few Friday nights post-happy hour there.
Let me just start off with the number one reason you should stop by – happy hour (Monday-Friday) from 7 UNTIL CLOSE. The best part is that they have $5 classic margaritas.
There is also a ton of other local craft beer, wine, and other flavors of margaritas (including seasonal ones). To be honest, we’re not huge beer fans, although we’ll try just about anything. But, we loooove margaritas and these are delicious, cheap and strong.
If you need a few more reasons to stop by, the food is also a big plus. The tacos are made to order on the flattop right in front of you. I’d recommend going with a friend so you can get a few different ones to share. They have chicken, shrimp, steak, fish, lamb and a bunch of other options including specials. We usually get the chips and guac and the yucca fries. The fries come with this delicious green sauce and I am not exactly sure what it is.
The staff wears fun garage style jumpsuits and headbands. They always have a smile on their face and will customize pretty much anything on the menu for you. It’s also more of a casual, fast-pace dining experience. There aren’t any servers – you just pick up from the counter. This makes it a low key, relaxed environment for a date, happy hour, or night cap!
We’d definitely recommend swinging by!
