The Smithsonian Museum of Natural History has a new gallery of display! Objects of Wonder will be on display until 2019 and features. One of the things I’m looking forward to  is the “Blue Flame,” which one of the world’s largest pieces of lapis lazuli.

Paddling season is back! Paddle Boats are now rentable again for the tidal basin. You can find out more about renting the boats here, and the season lasts util October. Though, we suggest going in spring first as it is usually less crowded and a little less hot!

One of my favorite all-time authors, as both a feminist and an existentialist (she wrote the seminal, ‘Second Sex’), Simone de Beauvoir has a new exhibit. The exhibit is featured at the National Museum of Women in the Arts, and is an interpretation of de Beauvoir’s Parisian studio.

Alyssa Mastromonaco, chief operating officer at VICE Media, will be talking about her new book, Who Thought This Was a Good Idea?: And Other Questions You Should Have Answers to When You Work in the White House, at politics and prose on March 26th!
