4 Favorite Face Masks

As a bit of a skincare fanatic, I will try almost anything and everything that claims to do something magical to my skin. I like to have a basic routine, but leave some room to incorporate new things as the season, and my skin, changes. I usually stick to a few skincare staples but LOVE to change it up every so often. Variety is the spice of life, right? When it comes down to choosing my ‘treat yo self’ skincare treat, a new mask almost always tops the list. Although I’ve gone through countless, I compiled a list of four that I’ve been counting on over the past few months. They’re listed in order of price.

  1.  FEELING BEAUTIFUL Avocado & Oatmeal Facial Clay Mask: I experienced the wonderfulness of this mask seven years ago. I stopped by the drugstore to pick up a few things and decided to try this out (mostly because of the price). It’s super cheap and works great, especially on your nose, and does wonders to blackheads. I would recommend washing it off after it dries completely, as it can be a tad drying. You can pick it up at most drugstores, it’s usually hidden on the bottom shelf of the skincare aisle.
  2.  Origins Clear Improvement Active Charcoal Mask to Clear Pores: This mask contains active charcoal which is ALL the rage right now, for good reason. What’s so awesome about it? Well, in short, active charcoal traps toxins by absorbing them. It basically pulls all of the impurities out of your skin, leaving your skin glowing and much smoother. The Origins mask is great because it goes on smoothly and only needs to be left on for 10 minutes. Similar to the Feeling Beautiful mask, if left on too much longer it can dry out your skin a bit. It’s a bit pricer, but I think worth it.
  3.  OLEHENRIKSEN Moment of Truth 2-in-1 Polishing Sugar Mask: If you’re looking for something closer to a scrub, this mask is great. It works as both a mask and exfoliate which leaves your skin feeling extra smooth after a complete cleanse. I like to use this before getting in the shower, the hot water allows it to seep into your pores and seriously clean them out.
  4. GLAMGLOW YOUTHMUD Tinglexfoliate Treatment: So, I know this is pricey, BUT, it works. It’s my favorite mask (I know, big statement) that I’ve ever used and works especially well on your nose. If I am feeling like treating myself, I will pick up a jar. It doesn’t last as long as I’d like but it makes a big difference when used. It always leaves my face soft, smooth, and less broken out than before.
